Xander Crawling

Xander has now started crawling. This past Sunday he took a couple steps while crawling. This evening he now is going long distances and is moving around really well.

9 months old

Xander is getting so big, and so much fun to be around. He sits up now, and just learned last week how to get into a sitting position from his stomach, and loves to do that now. not quite standing or crawling, but he’s almost crawling(one of his babysitters said he has already, but i haven’t seen it), but just can’t get his leg in the right position-keeps getting caught. but he gets around pretty good just by rolling and scooting on his stomach. he’s so adorable though, he knows who mom, dad, gadget the dog, and max the kitty are, and looks at them if you ask him where they are. He’s getting the hang of sucking out of a sippy cup, but still likes to just shake it, and gnaw on it. He’s getting his upper two teeth now, a total of 4. He’s babbling, but hasn’t said mama or dada yet, or at least on purpose. He loves to take his baths, or go swimming and splash in the water. We took him swimming the other day, and daddy put a little life vest on him- he looked like the blueberry girl in “willie wonka and the chocolate factory” with just his little head visible above the life vest, just floating in the water. He’ll be a good swimmer, his legs are kicking constantly, and toes are always wiggling. He’s starting to eat alot more table food, and is getting good at chewing things. He still sleeps through the night from 7pm to 6am. we took him to sears to get his picture taken a couple weeks ago, but he turned out kinda cranky, but we still got some good ones. i’ll see if i can scan them in to post on here. otherwise i’m gonna download some newer pics of him, so check them out!

Xander’s first camping trip

Our family went on our first camping trip since Xander was born for the fourth of July. We camped at Point Beach State Park with grandma and grandpa cameron for 5 days. It was very enjoyable and nice weather. xander got a few mosquito bites, but not bad. he got to dangle his toes in COLD lake michigan, and share ice cream down at the lodge with mom and dad.

6 months old already!

Xander is 6 months old already. I can’t believe it, time has flown so quickly, and he’s getting so big. He sits up by himself now for the most part…once in a while will lose his balance and can’t catch himself. He’s eating baby food now and loves it..usually…unless he’s overly tired or hungry…and he’s learning to drink from a sippy cup, though most of it just comes right back out of his mouth right now. We got him a “jumperoo”, or bouncer, and he goes crazy jumping up and down in it. he loves getting himself bouncing, then picking up his feet and swinging around. He turning over, too, from his back to his stomach, but hasn’t quite figured out how to get to his back again. he used to get very fussy when he was on his stomach, but is learning to like it now. He’s also started sleeping through the night about a month ago. he now sleeps from about 7:30 to 6:30. it’s wonderful!

He just got his first ear infection, in both ears, and a cold at the same time. He usually never cries, but he sure was out of sorts this time. he’d cry and scream for 30 minutes straight, no matter what you did. I give alot of credit to parents of babies that have colic or aren’t very happy….i don’t know how i could stand him crying that much!

I apologize to those of you who a reading this and think it’s kinda boring stuff to read, but i do this also for myself. i find it easier to type on here than fill in a baby book.

He had his first 2 easter egg hunts a couple weeks ago, and sure had fun sucking and chewing on the eggs! he got a green easter bunny from grandma and grandpa with great big floppy ears that he just loves.(the dog loves it, too.)

well, Xander is ready to eat, so i need to go. I posted some more pictures, too.!
